Octopath Traveler 1 vs 2 Comparison: A lot of parallels exist between Octopath Traveler 2 and its predecessor, which was released in 2018. But, the sequel also includes several significant new elements, some in very subtle ways and others that completely alter the dynamics.

But, adjusting the clock is more than only a formality. In accordance with the time of day, NPCs will relocate. The night will bring forth more ferocious beasts. Based on the time of day, some party members will even become more powerful.
Octopath Traveler 1
Most noteworthy is that this time around, each traveller has two Route Actions. The number of ways you may engage with the world is effectively doubled by the Day and Night activities. People can be knocked unconscious by the thief Throné at night, but during the day, she takes from their pockets the day instead.
Except for the plot segments that lock in a specific time, the day-night cycle is also entirely up to you. It’s a useful tool to have for side missions and exploration, helping you to find solutions and alter the environment.
In Octopath Traveler, the heroes steadily gain strength and develop into independent roaming warriors. This part appears in Octopath Traveler 2 as latent power, a mechanism that serves as each traveler’s personal “trump card” in a sense.
Indeed, you could go on land with the original Octopath Traveler. Nonetheless, the party will also embark on a maritime voyage in Octopath Traveler 2. The ability for players to board boats and sail about in addition to on foot is a significant difference in how characters may cross water.
Octopath Traveler 1 Reward

Octopath Traveler 2 New Missions:
When you complete objectives for them, you’ll be able to obtain the licences that various guilds distribute for various occupations. You can also choose from a few more secondary occupations, some of which become available fairly early, in addition to those two alternatives.
The distinct story of each character in Octopath Traveler 2 will gradually come to light as you play. Yet there is a slight twist with the merchant Partitio. In addition to the typical main plot chapters, Partitio also contains a series of side tasks called the “Scent of Commerce,” in which the merchant from Octopath Traveler 2 engages in various commercial pursuits all throughout the place.
