OW2 Heroes Locked Bug: Overwatch2 Heroes Locked Bug: Unlocking heroes as you play through Overwatch 2 is a crucial aspect of the First Time User Experience (FTUE).
For players who are still getting to know the Overwatch universe. That journey is beneficial, but for those of us who have been playing the game for a while, it is less so.
Existing players get this experience without being able. Unlock more heroes due to a glitch that has been impacting players since Overwatch 2’s release on October 4.

Only the 13 “starting heroes” provided to new players in the FTUE are usable due to this problem. There are occasionally additional other heroes that can be acquired through buyable expansions. Such as Junker Queen, Kiriko, and Sojourn, bringing the total to 16.
Even if the game may still be completely played, it is quite upsetting for veteran players to discover that their favourite characters have been locked for no apparent reason.
There is currently no definitive patch for this bug, which is still widespread. When many players first checked in on October 10 and saw that half of the Overwatch 2 roster was locked behind the FTUE experience, reports increased.
Even while there isn’t an immediate solution, there is something you should do before entering competitive mode and risking undoing your diligent climb out of Bronze.

How to determine whether the heroes in Overwatch 2 are locked:
Take a look at the Hero Gallery before you sign up for competitive mode or simply a hot match of quick play with your pals.
Heroes besides the thirteen “starting heroes” will have a lock on the right side of their portrait if you are currently affected by the FTUE bug. Sombra, Ana, and other crucial heroes for competitive mode should be your first port of call.
You won’t be able to choose these heroes if these locks display because of the FTUE problem. Currently, there are no clear solutions accessible. Anecdotal evidence suggests that restarting Overwatch 2 after logging out of the game will occasionally resolve the problem.
OW2 2 new ‘locked heroes’ bug frustrating many:
The long-awaited sequel to Activision-well-liked Blizzard’s Hero Shooter, Overwatch 2, recently debuted. Unfortunately, there are a number of issues that are making the launch a little bumpy.
Recent topics include the Watchpoint Pack’s malfunction. The missing progression after merging PC and console accounts, and login and connection difficulties.
The most recent bug now directly impacts player-unlocked characters. Numerous reports claim that many Overwatch 2 gamers are currently shut out of the majority of heroes.
Many gamers can’t access a large portion of the Overwatch 2 hero list at the moment for no obvious reason. The problem has persisted since it first surfaced a short while ago. Additionally, it appears that the bug is impacting several platforms and consoles at random. Some gamers have heroes that are unavailable on one system but accessible on another.
Fortunately, the Overwatch 2 creators have already acknowledged the problem. There isn’t yet a timetable for a remedy, though.
It’s important to note that the OW2 2 servers are currently unavailable. Therefore, it’s plausible that the company is putting a fix into place, but we’ll have to wait to find out for sure. As things develop, we’ll be keeping an eye on the situation to update this report.
