Best Weapons in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1: Ultimate Gun Tier List

Best Weapons in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1: With a fresh range of weaponry and a reworked reward pool, Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1 has shaken up the game’s ‘Best weapons.’ Now that the dust has cleared on the seasonal update, a Fortnite guns tier chart has emerged. The Island received a series of improvements in Chapter 3 of Epic Games’ popular battle royale game Fortnite, not least the map itself, but the most significant update is the treasure pool, which vaulted and replaced practically the entire Chapter 2 range with brand new weaponry.

The MK-Seven Assault Rifle has already risen to the top of the rankings, while shotgun fans will be disappointed to find that neither the Auto nor the Striker Pump will be useful this season.

It’s safe to presume that the first season of Chapter 3 has thrown everything into disarray. As a result, many players are scrambling to determine which guns are the finest — and which are the worst. We’re here to help you with our Fortnite weapon tier list.

Season 1 Chapter 3: The Best Weapons in Fortnite

Right now, these are the best weapons in Fortnite Chapter 3:

  • MK-Seven Assault Rifle
  • Stinger SMG
  • Hunter Bolt-Action Sniper Rifle
  • Grenade Launcher
  • Sidearm Pistol
  • Ranger Assault Rifle

We’ve based our assessment on facts, user feedback, and our own in-game experiences with this Fortnite weaponry since Chapter 3 Season 1 debuted in December 2021. Below are tiers for each weapon, as well as stats and a summary of how well they all perform. Of all, the S Tier symbolizes the finest of the best, while the D Tier should be avoided at all costs.

Fortnite S Tier Weapons:

Weapon DPS Reload Time Mag Size
MK-Seven Assault Rifle 216 2.8 seconds 35
Stinger SMG 240 2.25 seconds 30

Only the MK-Seven Assault Rifle and the Stinger SMG remain in the big leagues after the Rocket Launcher and the SCAR – the Legendary variant of the Assault Rifle – were vaulted in Chapter 3. Both of these weapons deliver massive quantities of damage per second and are necessary for capturing the Victory Crown. Close-to-midrange damage is best served by the Stinger SMG, while long-range takedowns are best served by the MK-Seven Assault Rifle’s red dot sight.

Fortnite A Tier Weapons:

Weapon DPS Reload Time Mag Size
Sniper Rifle Hunter Bolt-Action 63.36 3 seconds 3
Grenade Launcher 77 2.7 seconds 6
Spider-Man’s Web-Shooters N/A 2 – 10 seconds 80

The Hunter Bolt-Action Sniper Rifle isn’t the best sniper we’ve seen in Fortnite (that honor goes to the now-vaulted Automatic), but it’s now your sole option, so having one is a good thing. A well-timed headshot can also net you a one-shot kill on an enemy even if you don’t have full Shields. Thanks to enhancements that allow its projectiles to burst faster, the Grenade Launcher has firmly established itself in the A-Tier.

It isn’t the most user-friendly weapon, but it is quite powerful and effective in destroying enemy structures. We’ve added Spider-Mythic Man’s Web-Shooters in the A Tier even though they’re not a weapon. They’re a very valuable item to have in your loadout. They’re not only useful for evading the Storm but they may also be used to flee quickly if you’re about to be taken away.

Fortnite B Tier Weapons:

Weapon DPS Reload Time Mag Size
Sidearm Pistol 209.25 1.26 seconds 15
Ranger Assault Rifle 148 2.25 seconds 25
Heavy Shotgun 128.7 3.96 seconds 5

We never imagined putting a handgun in the B Tier of Fortnite weaponry (they’ve always been C Tier at best), but the Sidearm Pistol has proven its value on multiple occasions, doing great damage at close range – particularly headshots – while reloading swiftly.

The Ranger Assault Rifle is a regular AR rifle, but it’s your only option if you don’t like the MK-Seven Assault Rifle’s red dot sight. Finally, the Heavy Shotgun is great for medium-range takedowns provided your aim is on point; however, if you miss, the Heavy Shotgun’s long reload time could be your end.

Fortnite C Tier Weapons

Weapon DPS Reload Time Mag Size
Auto Shotgun 138.6 5.13 seconds 8
Machine Pistol 256 2.03 seconds 35

On paper, the Auto Shotgun appears to be a considerable upgrade over previous seasons’ standard shotguns, with good damage-per-second capabilities. However, due to the incredibly sluggish reload time, it is simply not worth using. You’ll almost probably be eliminated if you miss your shots.

A similar situation exists with the Machine Pistol. It has better stats than the Stinger SMG, thus it should be one of the greatest Fortnite guns, but its poor accuracy and spray make it a poor choice. In comparison to the Stinger SMG, which can cover a broader range, you’ll only want to use this for close combat.

Fortnite D Tier Weapons

Weapon DPS Reload Time Mag Size
Striker Pump Shotgun 68.64 4.5 seconds 5

This season, the Striker Pump Shotgun is the only weapon accessible in our D Tier. Although shotguns have historically been powerful, Epic appears to have taken the opposite approach with this one, as it is deemed too slow for close-range gunfights.

This list is subject to change as Epic Games publishes Fortnite patch updates with new weaponry and old favorites throughout the season. We’ll keep this list updated as new weapons are vaulted or unvalued in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1, so check back soon to make sure you’re using the greatest weapons available.
