Winter Split Suite Rocket League: The Rocket League Championship Series (RLCS) is returning for the Winter Split after a frigid winter vacation! At the Fall Major in Stockholm, Sweden, we named Team BDS the victors of the first international RLCS LAN in nearly two years. Now it’s time for the world’s top teams to take the field, with crucial points and RLCS glory on the line.

About the Rocket League

Rocket League, a vehicular soccer video game, was created and distributed by Psyonix. In July 2015, the game was released for Microsoft Windows and PlayStation 4, with Xbox One and Nintendo Switch versions coming shortly after. In June 2016, 505 Games and Warner Bros. When released a physical retail edition of the game for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Yes, you read that correctly. The North American RLCS has recruited Mobil 1 as an official sponsor for both the Winter and Spring Splits!

When Mobil 1 has returned to the RLCS! Long-time fans will recall Mobil 1 High-Performance Replays from previous seasons. Mobil 1 is bringing its knowledge as a world-renowned inventor of synthetic motor oils. Back to the North American RLCS pitch (and the rocket boosters). When the Winter and Spring Splits, we’re happy to welcome them back as North American RLCS sponsors.

New Format:

When each Split has its unique format, as we announced earlier this season. This time, four groups of four will compete in a Round-Robin format. To determine who will advance to the Modified Double-Elimination Bracket.

When teams that place first in their group will be put in the Upper Bracket. Giving them “extra life” in the Modified Double-Elimination Bracket. When teams who place second and third in their group will be seeded in the Lower Bracket. Which means they will be eliminated after one loss. When the bottom two teams in each group will be eliminated from the tournament.

Split and Broadcast Schedule:

When similar to the Fall Split, the event schedule will feature various RLCS regions competing each weekend. When each RLCS Regional Event in Europe and North America will have its distinct moniker. Take a look at the following:

Event Schedule:

  • When the X Games Open (NA), Middle East & North African (MENA), Oceanic (OCE), and Asia-Pacific South (APAC S) Regional #1 will be held on January 14-16.
  • The Apollo Open (EU), South American (SAM), and Asia-Pacific North (APN) are all taking place on January 21-23. (APAC N) #1 in the region
  • Rocket League 351 (NA), MENA, OCE, APAC S Regional #2 (January 28-30)
  • Regional #3; February 18-20: Mobil 1 Mountain Classic (NA), MENA, OCE, APAC S Regional #3; February 18-20: Mobil 1 Mountain
  • Classic (NA), MENA, OCE, APAC
  • Copa de Rocket League (EU), SAM, APAC N Regional #3 (February 25-27)
  • Major (Location???) March 23-27
  • The Transfer Window is open from March 28 through April 17th.

Broadcast Start Times:

  • Asia-Pacific North (APAC N) RLCS: 7 p.m. JST (2 a.m. PT)
  • Asia-Pacific South (APAC S) RLCS: 5 p.m. SGT (1 a.m. PT), Fridays at 7 p.m. SGT (3 a.m. PT)
  • European (EU) RLCS: 8 a.m. PT (4 p.m. UTC)
  • North America (NA) RLCS: 10 a.m. PT (6 p.m. UTC)
  • Oceanic (OCE) RLCS: 5 p.m. AEDT (10 p.m. PT)
  • South America (SAM) RLCS: 4 p.m. BRT (11 a.m. PT)

With the exception of Day 1 streams on Fridays, the broadcasts will be identical to those of the Fall Split. When the opening day of each Regional Event in Europe and North America will now feature a “featured match” per Round-Robin round. The main feed will check in on other matches in a particular round as results come in. When all of the team feeds that were live on Day 1 are still available to watch. When on Day 1, all Round-Robin Group Stage matches as well as the four Lower Bracket Round 1 matches will be playing.
