Battlefield 2042 Season 1 Battle Pass Rewards: Battlefield 2042, like many other popular FPS games these days, will offer a battle pass that includes regular cosmetic rewards earned while playing as well as other new content to enjoy. Many players are anticipating what these post-launch content upgrades will bring now that the whole game has arrived. We were curious as well, so we combed through Dice’s many blog entries for all the details and compiled them into one handy guide.
Things are subject to change, and there’s still a lot we don’t know about Battlefield 2042’s post-launch plans, so anticipate this guide to be updated frequently as we learn more about the upcoming seasons, including the Battle Pass release dates. For the time being, we’ll provide you with a detailed summary of what you can expect from each season.
Battlefield 2042 Battle Pass
Regardless of player ratings, Dice clearly has huge ambitions for the latest installment in their blockbuster game, as they stated in their Launch Briefing that they will support it for years to come.
For the time being, their focus is on the Year 1 curriculum. Dice has stated that they expect to release four seasons of content in the first year. Each season will include a free and paid Battle Pass, as well as a new Specialist, new locales, and other features. Of course, even if Dice hasn’t mentioned it, we expect new weaponry to play a significant role in these post-launch content dumps. They also mentioned that each season will include more Portal content, however, the scope of the new options is yet unknown.
What is the release date for the Battlefield 2042 Battle Pass?
We’re not sure when the first Battlefield 2042 Battle Pass will be available. Season 1 is likely to debut in Spring 2022, as Dice already stated that we may expect additional details early next year. Seasons will span around three months, so when Season 1 information is disclosed, we should have a better idea of how the year will be divided. In the interim, there will be some preseason stuff to enjoy, such as weekly objectives and time-limited modes. We’ll keep you updated as these become available in Battlefield 2042.
Dice aren’t going to sit around twiddling their thumbs till next year, though. Players have expressed numerous complaints about Battlefield 2042 since its release, and Dice has promised updates and fixes to address some of the more serious flaws.
Free Battlefield 2042 Battle Pass vs. Premium Battlefield 2042 Battle Pass
Players can earn cosmetic options as they go through the four seasons using the Premium Battle Pass (four confirmed at this time). Players can unlock a number of “leaks” similar to those found in games like Call of Duty, Fortnite, and others. This option is only for individuals that spend a lot of time in-game and prefer to look nice. It includes everything from Specialist clothing to weapon reskins. You can’t combat crime if you’re not attractive, right?
Offering a Battle Pass that is locked behind actual playable content is something that other shooters have been chastised for in recent years. It might be a new mode, a new map, playable characters, or anything else. This, in my opinion, is where the problem lies.
So there you have it: the Free Battle Pass vs. the Premium Battle Pass. If you choose the Free option, you will lose nothing of value.
